About LPOAWC


As a landlord, your greatest risk is what you don’t know, and not having a voice. The founders of the Landlords and Property Owners’ Association of Washington County recognized that back in 1995, and came together as a coalition to better serve the needs of landlords. While we initially started as a means of addressing local, regional, and state-wide legislation affecting the interests of landlords, over time, our mission has evolved to provide landlords with knowledge, resources, and networking opportunities. Looking toward the future, the LPOAWC seeks to broaden its educational offerings, embracing digital platforms for communication and learning opportunities, as well as opening our network to local and regional business positioned to help landlords succeed.

MEETINGS

Meetings Start At 7:00 P.M. – First Thursday of the month held in Hagerstown, MD 21740 -New location to be announced.

Due to the holidays, in January there is no meeting, but we resume in February.

MEMBERS MEETING – your own special issues during this time.

CUMBERLAND and WESTERN MD AREA LANDLORDS – It is important for you to be in touch with us if there is a topic of conversation that may be of concern in your area that needs to be addressed. We try to make sure the information being shared is for all of our regions. If there are ordinances that are being changed in your community, please let us know so that we can share with the group.

LEAD PAINT UPDATE

LEAD PAINT UPDATE:

As of April 1st. No more Weather Waivers can be issued for properties, Make sure all chipping, flaking, peeling paint is attended to before calling for an inspection. If a waiver was used on your property you must have corrected the issues by date on your certificate. A licensed Lead Supervisor must do the work and Inspector called to re-inspect the exterior or your certificate is valid.
